DANPOT DATA A/S ejes ligeligt fordelt mellem producenterne - gennem deres
forening Danske Prydplanter - og salgsselskaberne GASA GROUP, BØG MADSEN, og GASA KOLDING.
Handelsproceduren er bygget op omkring EDI, hvor principperne i HanCom følges.
Systemet er under konstant videreudvikling.

Producenterne benytter et windows-baseret program til
ordrebehandling m.m.

Handelsproceduren i DANPOT
1. Udbudsregistrering
derfor altid ajour.
2. Ordreafgivelse
Salgsselskaberne afgiver ordrer ud fra oplysningerne i udbuddet. Kun varer der
er udbudt, kan der afgives ordrer på.
3. Svar
bliver derfor lettere at udføre. Kort sagt: DANPOT er en uundværlighed i
dagens handel med prydplanter.
Brugerne er ejerne
DANPOT DATA A/S er et selvstændigt firma, der er stiftet den 1. januar 1993 af GASA ODENSE - BLOMSTER, GASA AARHUS, EXPOSA, BØG MADSEN, LEMFLORA, GASA KOLDING og GASA AALBORG.

Was ist DANPOT ?
In 1996 the producers through the PfP-association became shareholders too.
At the moment 30 sales companies and 350 nurseries are running the system.
The DANPOT System in general.
The working procedure in the system follows the principles of EDI/HANCOM (the danish HANdels COMmunikation, EAN-Danmark), but is designed specially for DANPOT, and can be described as follows:
1. LIST OF SUPPLY
The producer establishes offers, which are sent through the DANPOT-Central to the
companies, to whom the offers are addressed. This offer-supply-list is continously
adjusted, and therefore always up-to-date.
2. ORDERS
The companies place their orders based on the information of the supply-list. As the information is continously
updated, it is almost 100% certain, that the order will be accepted.
3. ANSWERS
The producer always gives an answer, either aconfirmation of the order, a proposal for a change - or a
rejection. In case of change the answer will be negotiated via the system
untill both parts confirms or cancels the order.
4. DELIVERY
The producer delivers the ordered potplants at place of desired destination i due time without further
messages, as the sales companies guarantees payment by their membership of
DANPOT.
5. ACCOUNTS
The day after the goods has been delivered, the companies send a control list (of the
accounts), in order that you can intervene immediately if something has gone
wrong.
As the producer and the sales company work with the same data, the risk of mistakes is minimal.
Sales Companies / Traders
DANPOT DATA, as well as the companies affilitiated to DANPOT, have IBM AS/400 installations or are connected to AS/400, although hey can run the system on Windows-based standard-software (Navision e.g.).
Orders etc., created in the order system of the sales companies, are "handled in" on the AS/400 of the sales company in the DANPOT-format. The DANPOT-system take over the data and transfer them to the DANPOT centre. The treatment of orders to be sent through the DANPOT-system is designed/created individually, to make it possible to consider various conditions at the individual sales company, and to match the existing administrative systems under the conditions of competition. However it is possible to buy standard program for the order treatment for both AS/400 and PC's.
So to say, the sales company has the responsibility to produce the orders in DANPOT-format - and DANPOT DATA has the responsibility to do the validation, preparation for communication and the communication.
DANPOT centre
The centre consists of 2 IBM AS/400, one receiving the data from the sales companies and receiving offers and answers from the producers - and the other sending data to the producers.
The Centre receives orders from the sales companies currently, and every 10 minutes the orders, which have been collected, are transmitted to the producers. The producers currently answer back to the centre. The order traffic creates the basis of payment of the operating fee to DANPOT DATA.
The contents of the orders create the basis of the calculation of the average prices obtained, the PriceInfo, which is offered to producers as well as to sales companies.
Growers
A standard program for all producers has been elaborated. There is only one system, and all producers are using the same system.
However, there are various possibilities of setting up the system, which can work on both a single user's or a more
users' installation (net).
The producers use PC's, either isolated or as part of a network, having the DANPOT-PCprogram, which is currently developed to meet the demands and wishes of the producers and the sales- companies. Project groups are set up to "treat" and estimate the wishes.
The program is able to register and send offers to the centre, to receive orders, demands for samples, reservation of ready goods, reservation of young plants, electronic mail, etc, and treat these as well as to transmit answers (accept, change or cancel) back to sales companies, - and to do salesstatistic etc .
The DANPOT-system - a sure and reliable system
The construction of the system involves a high security level - for the benefit of both parties.
All orders are based on producers offer, which is currently updated with price and available
quantity. This means a highly effective system with a minimum of human work to do
trading.
All communication passes a supervised centre. This means a reliable, controlled and secure communication, as well as an automatic collection of data, according to rules approved by the parties, for the preparation and transmission of information about average prices achieved (PriceInfo) and the possibility of other statistics.
Great importance has beed attached to the security in the Centre. The installations run directly on batteries with long capacity in case of loss of current, and several telephone line have been "drawn" by alternative routes to prevent that they are totally cut in case of damage of cables. All disc-operations are mirrored to prevent disccrash.
Furthermore DANPOT DATA administrates the common plant-list and the EAN bar codes. The reliability of the bar codes is strengthened through the daily use in the communication systems and contributes to the rationalization in wider circles than producers and companies (retailers, the "Plantedirektoratet" etc).
